The task

Aston Martin is a brand that almost needs no introduction. Established in 1913 it continues to produce cars that blend iconic design, exceptional engineering and unrivalled craftsmanship to create an unforgettable, emotional experience.

With no new car models to launch in 2014, Aston Martin were keen to make the most of the significant engineering enhancements they had made on their Vanquish and Rapide S models. The main aim of the project was to bring the incredible technical innovations of the two models to life. Immersing the user in the experience and ultimately pushing them to contact local dealerships in order to book a test-drive and see it for themselves.

Our approach

Our approach was closer related to a televisual experience than a more traditional digital marketing approach. We commissioned one of London’s leading TV production companies to produce a photo realistic fly-through for each car model. We then built a highly interactive website allowing users to control and interact with the moving image content.

This approach was chosen so users could immediately appreciate the external beauty of the cars. They can then go on to inspect the finer details in an immersive experience that really highlights the quality and thought that goes into every aspect of the cars. Users are given the ability to control their own journey into and through each of the key technical systems including the interior, the controls, the power unit and the engine management system.

The result

Aston Martin were so pleased with the result of our work that it was the main feature on their global homepage for many months. They were particularly happy with the way we managed to create something that was visually captivating yet informative at the same time.

All data captured through the activity was fed straight into the Aston Martin CRM system allowing the activity to be tracked directly thought to its impact on lead generation and sales.
